Common Questions

What is Blanketcat?
Blanketcat is a self-hosted email platform that combines an email service provider, blogging platform, and domain warmup service into one system. You get subscriber management, campaigns, automated journeys, a static blog generator with themes, and email warmup — all managed from a single dashboard.
Why is it invite only?
We're in early beta and want to make sure every user gets a good experience. By working with a smaller group first, we can iterate on the platform based on real feedback and ensure the infrastructure scales properly before opening up more broadly.
What does the platform include?
Everything you need to run email at scale: subscriber and list management, dynamic segments, email templates, campaigns with scheduling, multi-step automated journeys with triggers and conditions, a built-in static blog with five themes, domain warmup with six volume modes, one-click MTA provisioning, Cloudflare DNS integration, suppression management, webhooks, and role-based access control.
Do I need my own servers?
Blanketcat can provision mail servers for you with one click — fully configured Postfix relays with STARTTLS, SASL auth, DNS, and rDNS all handled automatically. You can also bring your own SMTP servers if you prefer.
How does email warmup work?
New domains and IPs have no reputation with mailbox providers. Blanketcat's warmup service sends and receives real email at controlled volumes across two independent sources, gradually building trust. You choose from six modes ranging from 100/day (maintenance) to 10,000/day (quadruple).
How long does it take to get access?
We review requests as they come in. Most people hear back within a few days. If you have a specific timeline or use case in mind, mention it in your email and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Is there a cost?
Pricing details are shared during the onboarding process. During the beta, we're working with users to find the right pricing model. The only fixed cost is infrastructure — provisioned mail servers run on Linode at $5/month each.
